Piper: The ultra-lightweight robotic arm for intuitive teleoperation and precise control
The AgileX Piper redefines interaction with robots. Developed as an exceptionally lightweight and precise 6-axis robotic arm, it makes complex automation and control tasks accessible and intuitive. Its true strength lies in the combination of sensitive control and a robust design, making it the ideal choice for a wide range of applications – from industrial precision work, research, and education to creative uses in film production.
Revolutionary control through teleoperation
The outstanding feature of the Piper is its innovative teleoperation system. It is offered as a "Teacher/Follower" pair, enabling absolutely intuitive remote control: An operator guides the "Teacher" arm, and the "Follower" arm perfectly mimics the movements in real-time – including gripping commands. This approach not only revolutionizes the teaching of tasks but also enables complex remote maintenance and manipulation tasks, as if you were on site yourself.
Lightweight with industrial strength
Weighing only 4.2 kg, the Piper is one of the lightest robotic arms in its class without compromising on stability. It can safely and precisely handle a payload of up to 1.5 kg. Its six integrated joint motors ensure smooth and exact movements. The robust construction ensures reliable operation in a wide variety of environments and at temperatures from -20°C to 50°C.
As an open development platform, the Piper offers full compatibility with ROS1 and ROS2 as well as a comprehensive SDK. This gives developers the freedom to create their own applications and seamlessly integrate the robotic arm into existing systems, making it an extremely versatile tool for research, teaching, and industry.
